Training
The scope of collaboration in this area includes using the services of academic staff across the participating institutions, industry and government for the following:
• Graduate training leading to Masters and Ph.D degrees
• Short-term industry and policy targeted programmes
The curriculum is flexible and intensive. It is delivered in modules by University faculty and industry experts from Nigeria and abroad. On completion of this programme, the graduates would amongst others, have acquired skills that are relevant for careers in petroleum and energy industries; in government ministries, departments and parastatals that are responsible for managing petroleum and energy resources; and in banking/financial institutions, and energy and petroleum policy consulting units, and the academia.
Research
The Institute shall engage in multi-disciplinary collaborative research on major petroleum and energy issues relating to the petroleum and energy sector in particular and the national economy in general.
Public Services
Public Services offer to the public by EEI shall primarily be energy information gathering and disseminations through conferences, seminars, policy forum and roundtables, publications and television appearances to ensure interaction among petroleum and energy professionals in academia, industry/business, and government ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs)
