Short Profile of

Prof. Felix B. Dayo

Prof. Felix B. Dayo is currently: the Managing Director / CEO of Triple “E” Systems Associates Ltd, Lagos, Nigeria, and the Lead Practice Expert at Triple E Systems LLC, Bowie MD USA, an Adjunct Professor of Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh PA., and a Visiting Professor of Energy and Environmental Engineering at the Emerald Energy Institute, University of Port Harcourt.

Prof. Dayo’s areas of consulting interest and expertise includes: Climate Mitigation and Adaptation research, Technical Analysis of Carbon Market Issues, Power Plant Concept and Detailed Engineering covering Renewable and non-Renewable Power Systems; Engineering and Financial Feasibility Analysis of Infrastructure Projects; Energy Efficiency Strategies in Commercial and Industrial Facilities; Power Microgrid Research and Development; Renewable Energy Opportunity Analysis; and Power Evacuation Load and Stability Studies. He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University (1982), Pittsburgh, Pa., USA, a MS. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Michigan (1979), Ann Arbor, Mi., USA, and a B.Sc. (Hon) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Ife (1976 – now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. In the last few decades, his professional interests and activities have focused primarily on: energy policy modeling; energy efficiency; renewable energy (RE); environmental assessment; lifecycle analysis of energy systems; design and development of RE based mini-grids  and; climate change mitigation and adaptation. Prior to his current professional engagements, he was: a Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Energy Research and Development (CERD), Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Nigeria (1982 – 1993), Managing Director/CEO at Triple E Systems Associates Ltd, Lagos Nigeria (1993 – 2005); a Visiting Professor of Energy and Environmental Engineering at the Federal University Otuoke, Otuoke Bayelsa State Nigeria (2012 – 2015) and; a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for the Rational Use of Energy (IER) at the University of Stuttgart, Germany (1995 – 1997).

Prof. Dayo is currently a Member of the independent Technical Advisory Panel (iTAP) to the Executive Board of the Global Climate Fund since 2016. He is currently leading a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) Investment Consortium that is developing Mini-Grid Facilities in Nigeria. Their first Mini-Grid Investment will be the Ejigbo (Osun State) Interconnected Mini-Grid Solar PV Hybrid Facility, that is expected to be commissioned before the end of 2020 to serve about 2,000 consumers in the town that are currently supplied about 2 hours of electricity per day on the average from the Nigerian Grid. The project, which has been designed to deliver 24/7 reliable electricity to the ring-fenced consumers after commissioning, will be metered to each consumer with a smart pre-paid meter. It is the plan of SPV to develop into a Mini-Grid Outfit within the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry with a key strategy to contribute to the expansion of electricity access in the country. He is a non-serving Deacon at Yaba Baptist Church, Yaba Lagos and the Bible Study Director at Royal Seed Church International, Laurel MD USA. He is married to Omobolaji Olufadeke Dayo, an Estate Surveyor and a Nurse and they are blessed with 4 girls.
