Dr. David Oluseyi Ige, FNSE, FNIMECHE is a former Group Executive Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). He has over 25 years work experience which cuts across Oil & Gas, management consulting and academics in world class organizations. His experience spans Exploration, Development and Production of Oil and Natural Gas plus Midstream infrastructure and Downstream disposal of Hydrocarbons. Dr. Ige’s experience also includes corporate strategy, policy formulation, change management and project implementation with broad international exposure and work/project experience from diverse locations among which are the United Kingdom, Norway, USA, Angola and Nigeria. He is widely recognized for initiating and developing the Nigeria Gas Master Plan and policy, in response to a major threat to the nation’s energy agenda arising from lack of a viable gas infrastructure.
Engr. (Dr.) Ige is a graduate of Mechanical Engineering (First Class Hons.) from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. He also holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from Cambridge University. David is Founder and CEO of GasInvest Limited and GasHub Limited. He has over 23-years industry experience spanning both the private and public sector. Prior to setting up GasInvest Limited, David was Group Executive Director – Gas & Power, at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) between 2011-2015. Previously, David also worked as Petroleum Engineer with Shell International Petroleum Company (Netherlands, Scotland & Nigeria) and in Strategy consulting with Accenture UK, in London. Whilst at the NNPC, he concurrently served as Adviser to the Honorable Minister of Petroleum and was pioneer Managing Director of the Gas Aggregation Company of Nigeria.
David has driven efforts in developing Nigeria’s gas policy and its implementation. He led the effort in developing the Nigerian Gas master plan and its implementation. These efforts led to major evolutionary changes in gas pricing in Nigeria, development of gas infrastructure blueprint and subsequent implementation.
David held diverse Board Positions including Chairman of the West African Gas Pipeline Company, Board member of the Brass LNG Company, Chairman of the Nigerian Shipping and Manning Company (subsidiary of NLNG). He currently sits on the Board of Frontier Oil Limited. David holds a First-Class BSc (Mech. Eng.) from the University of Lagos, PhD in Engineering from Cambridge University, UK and an MBA from University of Aberdeen, Scotland. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and a Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
